WESTWOOD — The Westwood Planning Board continued a Walmart Spark fulfillment store hearing to August 18 after refusing to waive landscaping requirements. Chair Ellen Rollings said she was "not personally willing to waive the landscaping" at 21-25 Southwest Park, directing the applicant, represented by engineer Molly Obendorf of Bowler Engineering, to restore trees and shrubs lost over the years and add a bicycle rack before parking drops from 59 to 38 spaces. The board separately voted 4-0 to grant retroactive scenic road approval for two trees cut on Dover Road, requiring four replacement eastern red cedars, and voted 3-0, with Vice Chair Phil Giordano recused, to approve sign and site changes at 436 Washington Street.
Members also unanimously endorsed a lot-line plan creating a nearly five-acre parcel at 151 Grove Street for sale to Dedham Country and Polo Club, which attorney Keith Hampe said needs the land to lengthen a driving range that is "a little short for some of the players."
