WESTWOOD — The Westwood Planning Board voted unanimously to deny violating the state's open meeting law after a complaint tied to a zoning dispute over a child care facility. Town Counsel Lauren Goldberg told the board at its October 13 meeting that litigation was reasonably anticipated, citing a letter warning the applicant would pursue "appellate remedies" if denied a parking waiver under the Dover Amendment. The 5-0 vote authorized Goldberg to respond to the complaint from attorney Jonathan Silverstein, filed October 5 on behalf of Foresight Education LLC.
The same meeting, the board unanimously approved Shields Healthcare Group's request to install new MRI equipment at 40 Allied Drive and signed off on smaller balsam fir trees, rather than $800-to-$1,100 eastern red cedars, to satisfy a scenic road requirement at 11 Perry Drive.
