Westwood Planning Board approved a redesigned, wheelchair-accessible playground for the 22-40 Everett Street development and adopted new scenic road rules. The board voted 5-0 to close the Everett Street public hearing after applicant representative Peter Zaka presented a ramped play structure that lets children "enter without having to be lifted or removed from the wheelchair," with a condition requiring signage stating the playground is "open to all." Members also reorganized, unanimously electing Ellen Larkin Rollings chair, Philip M. Giordano vice chair and Timothy S.
Haladyna secretary. The board spent nearly an hour weighing Chapter 40Y Starter Home zoning without a vote; Giordano said he "just really struggle[s] with the economics," while Haladyna called action "premature." A Wegmans sign upgrade at 169 University Avenue also passed 5-0.
