Westwood sports roundup, Sept. 28 to Oct. 4

WESTWOOD --

YOUTH LEAGUES: Westwood Youth Soccer's Fall PreK Soccer Skills program registration is now full, the league said on its website. The program requires players to be age 4 by Nov. 1, 2026.

The Westwood Basketball Association said its In-Town program, open to grades 1 through 12 with no tryouts, runs on Saturdays from the first weekend in December through early March, in 75-minute blocks combining about 30 minutes of practice with a 45-minute game. Registration costs $150 per player, with discounts for families with three or more players. The association said all fourth through sixth graders who play in its MetroWest travel program must also register for In-Town.

The MetroWest travel program, for grades 4 through 8, starts in November with two mandatory practices or clinics a week, and games played on Sundays starting after Thanksgiving, running through mid-March. The program requires one or two mandatory tryout sessions per grade before teams are set. The league's website listed registration for "2026/2027 Metrowest Travel Basketball Tryouts" as not currently available.
