Westwood Little League and the Westwood Basketball Association both have registration windows open as the youth sports calendar turns toward winter.

WESTWOOD --

YOUTH LEAGUES -- Westwood Little League's website lists its 2026 season as open, with registration currently available for the Majors and Minors divisions. The league says registration for all other divisions closes in April, and its team store is open for the season.

The Westwood Basketball Association has opened registration for its 2026-2027 Metrowest Travel Basketball tryouts. The WBA says that program, for grades 4 through 8, requires one to two mandatory tryout sessions per grade, starts in early November with two mandatory practices or clinics a week, and plays games on Sundays beginning after Thanksgiving. The association also described its In-Town program, open to all interested boys and girls in grades 1 through 12 with no tryouts required. In-Town games run on Saturdays in 75-minute slots, about 30 minutes of practice followed by a 45-minute game, starting the first weekend in December and running until early March. The WBA says the In-Town registration fee is $150 per player, with discounts available for families with three or more players. The WBA also noted that 4th-6th grade Metrowest Travel players are required to also register and play in the In-Town program.

Westwood Youth Soccer's site continues to list open registration for its Winter Futsal League and Winter Skills sessions, previously reported.
