Town Meeting · Meeting of April 23, 2026
Westwood previews 31 warrant articles ahead of its May 4 Annual Town Meeting. Town Administrator Connor Reed outlined a fiscal 2027 operating budget, more than $8 million in combined capital spending, and a $325,000 feasibility study for a new Fire Station 1 that "does not bind the town to a specific site." A $345,000 article would cover special education staffing costs after 23 vacancies drove contracted-services spending about $1.25 million over budget. A short-term rental bylaw would cut the minimum stay to two nights and cap rentals at 30 days a year.
The Finance and Warrant Commission recommends indefinite postponement, effectively a no vote, on the meeting's lone citizen's petition, which would replace voice votes with electronic voting.
