Westwood Unveils Smaller Fire Station 1 Design, Seeks Public Input
WESTWOOD — Town officials this week unveiled a scaled-back design for the long-planned Fire Station 1 project and are inviting residents to weigh in as they compare the cost of the smaller building against earlier, larger versions of the plan.

The town released the revised, smaller concept for Fire Station 1 late Tuesday, opening a public-input period for residents to review the design and the accompanying cost comparison before officials settle on a final direction. The project has been in the works for some time as the town works through options for replacing or rebuilding its aging fire facility; the new design represents an attempt to bring the scope, and presumably the price tag, down from prior iterations. No timeline for a final decision or a public hearing date was included in the announcement.
