Obituary notices, week of September 28 through October 4, 2026

WESTWOOD — This week's column carries a notice for one obituary identifying a Westwood, Massachusetts residency, posted by Folsom Funeral Service – Westwood Chapel via Legacy.com.

Gertrude Murial Atkinson, known as Trudy, of Brownfield, Maine, formerly of Westwood, Massachusetts, died Sunday, September 27, after a brief illness, with her family by her side. Services were not detailed in the portion of the obituary available at publication time. Full obituary at Legacy.com: https://www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/name/gertrude-atkinson-obituary?id=62650913.

Notices compiled from Legacy.com (Folsom Funeral Service – Westwood Chapel), Echovita, Tribute Archive, and Westwood Patch. Several other names appeared on this week's Legacy.com Westwood listings page (including Mildred T. Perry and Kenneth Edward McAvoy), but their available obituary text did not explicitly confirm Westwood, MA residency, so they were omitted from this notice pending fuller source material.
