Counsel Screening Committee · Meeting of July 9, 2026

WESTWOOD — Town counsel screening committee organized and went into closed session. Members including Select Board representative Aaron Sibley, Town Administrator Hunter Reed, Community and Economic Development Director Norah Lochnane, Public Works Director Todd Fortune, Planning Board representative Phil Giordano, Lou Rizzoli and Town Moderator Jim O'Sullivan were sworn in. An 8-0 roll call approved a plan for the member running the process to serve as chair, possibly with Rizzoli as co-chair; that member said there would be "no wounded pride" if someone else wanted the job.

A Thursday conflict pushed the tentative next meeting to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 14, ahead of a possible July 20 special Select Board meeting to interview finalists. The committee then voted 8-0 to enter executive session to consider applicants, with no return to open session.
